Dress Code

Reasons for School Uniforms

  • Promote a more serious school atmosphere which emphasizes academics and promote appropriate behavior.

  • Increase student achievement and/or attendance.

  • Reduce social conflict and peer pressure that may be associated with certain types of clothing and appearance.

  • Provide limited choices while giving students a sense of choice and expression by varied colors and uniform options (pants, shorts, sweaters, vests).                

Kindergarten – 8th Grade Uniform Policy

Students may mix and match their choice of the following uniform items which may be purchased from Leinwand’s: 

  • Gray shorts (no shorter than 4 inches above the knee)

  • Gray pants (no jeans, jeggings, or sweat pants)

  • Black pants (no jeans, jeggings, or sweat pants)

  • Black shorts (no shorter than 4 inches above the knee)

  • Black skort (Girl’s)  (no shorter than 4 inches above the knee)

  • Gray skort (Girl’s)  (no shorter than 4 inches above the knee)

  • Jumpers (Girl’s)  (no shorter than 4 inches above the knee)

  • Polo- styled dresses for girls- monogrammed with “Emereau”

  • Emereau Green polo shirt- monogrammed with “Emereau”

  • White polo shirt- monogrammed with “Emereau”

  • Black polo shirt- monogrammed with “Emereau”

  • White Lab Coat- monogrammed with “E= i3 c2 g!” (Grades K-4)

  • Tights- solid school colors only; no fish nets

  • All shorts/ skorts must be no shorter than four (4) inches above the knee

  • Form-fitting spandex material, nylon, denim, blue jeans, and Jeggings are prohibited. No holes, tears, excessive pockets, or cargo pants.

         

HEALTH AND PHYSICAL EDUCATION DAY ATTIRE

  • Approved Emereau “Spirit Shirt” purchased from Emereau: Bladen (gray, green, white, class color, or Emereau special event)-  long sleeve or short sleeve t- shirt

  • Black athletic shorts- must maintain length of no shorter than four (4) inches above the knee or black athletic pants

  • Tennis shoes 

 

OUTERWEAR

  • All outerwear (heavier jackets, coats, and raincoats) not following uniform policy must be removed inside the building.

  • Approved outerwear is available at Leinwand’s, but may be purchased at any retail location. 

The “Spirit Hoodie” authorized by Emereau: Bladen (gray, green, black or white) is also approved as outerwear and may be worn daily. Only approved hoodies are permitted. Non- school approved hoodies are NOT allowed. Hoods must NOT be worn in the building. Sweaters and jackets of non- approved school colors may not be worn in the building.
